IAPMO’s emerging Technology Symposium Feature’s water Legacy’s CEO
Written by Water Legacy on May 19, 2010 – 4:04 pm -Michael Vail, CEO of Water Legacy, was a featured speaker at the IAPMO Emerging Technology Symposium last week in Ontario, California. Mike’s presentation was a roundtable discussion on the water reuse and cost of energy. click on this site to learn more and see when the youtube video is available http://www.iapmo.org/Pages/EmergingTechnologySymposium.aspx.
Greywater and greywater reuse present an opportunity for consumers to reduce overall energy consumption. We often times do not value water movement associated to energy conservation. But if you use water in your home twice, as you do with the water legacy greywater resuse system, your contribution to the carbon footprint is less.

Increased Water Rates is a growing trend
Written by Water Legacy on November 18, 2009 – 3:43 pm -The Denver Water Board is raising the rate you pay for water by 13%. Additionally, water users should expect to see increases continually for next couple of years. This information is noted in the Denver Post’s editorial page on November 15th , 2009. www.denverpost.com/opinion/ci_13776994?source=pophome
Water Legacy asks: Should we be concerned?
Our mission is conservation through reusing greywater to flush your toilets. Reusing greywater causes less water (up to 30%) therefore reducing your consumption of fresh residential water. In Denver, the water rates have already gone up 81% since 2001. The biggest challenge facing water conservation is that people expect the price of water to be cheap and the supply abundant. As prices increase, one will look at reduction of cost and that is through conservation.
We ask that Denverites and citizens of the west become more fully aware of methods of water consumption reduction and take time to evaluate the use of greywater to flush your toilets.

Water Legacy’s WL55 passes IAPMO testing

Water Legacy WL55 model passes IAPMO testing
|
Water Legacy, LLC, Colorado based grey water recycling product manufacturer of the WL55, passed a battery of compliance testing last week by IAPMO R&T. The new system is now compliant with the IGC 207 (US) standards for greywater recycling systems.
The Water Legacy consists primarily of a water filter, Ultra Violet light disinfection system, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) disinfection system and a 55 gallon water storage tank. Graywater is collected from showers, baths and hand sinks via a graywater plumbing system. The graywater plumbing system is separate from the black water plumbing system. The water collected is first filtered by the water legacy. The graywater is then dosed with the disinfecting agent hydrogen peroxide. Finally, graywater passes through an ultraviolet light disinfection system. Disinfected graywater is stored in a 55 gallon drum for reuse until a toilet is flushed, creating demand for the treated water.

The WL-55 has been designed to service the typical 4-to-6 person household. It is a stand-alone fully integrated system that collects used bathing greywater, filters & disinfects this water, and manages the automatic supply to the toilets. The WL-55 is fully automatic and requires no operator intervention. In the event of insufficient Greywater for flushing of toilets, the WL-55 will complement with Fresh Water.

I have a water Legacy 55 system in a new house I built in Nebraska and am extremely happy with the system. I think all new construction should have a Water Legacy system in it. Water savings have been significant and the system now a year old is working perfect. A GREAT PRODUCT!!
It is so wonderful to know that we really are getting out there and the product works well and is growing daily. Thanks for reading
